The food is absolutely delicious! I got green chicken enchiladas because that's what I always get when I go to a New Mexican restaurant for the first time. The flavor and tenderness of the shredded chicken took my breath away. They do not skimp with the chile or the chicken. The rice is well seasoned and perfectly al dente, not mushy or bland at all. It came with a freshly made tortilla and honey, essentially a personal size sopapilla. Also got the beef nachos on the side and even that was made with care and flavor. The staff behind the counter were efficient and kind and the staff out cleaning were so sweet and helpful. There's so much sitting room and the decor is a great blend of rustic and nostalgic. I would definitely go back again and again!
This is THE restaurant in Albuquerque that you cannot miss. Great atmosphere, we arrived around 8:30pm after the tramway ride, but the place was still buzzed. A dozen or so staffs were still busy in the open kitchen, taking orders or serving food. The restaurant is huge, almost a block long, but it was still almost full. The food, yes, the food was great, the portion was generous and the price was more than reasonable. The tortillas were as fresh and fragrant as it can be, best tortillas that I had. The tortilla chips were warm, thin, crispy, also the best that I had, cannot go back to pre-made ones anymore. The taco was wonderful, juicy beef, fresh veggies, pretty addictive. We also tried the famous cinnamon roll, it was not bad, but not memorable at all. Overall, frontier certainly lives up to the hype, I absolutely loved it. It would be great if they also serve sopaipilla.
Always a hit and fantastic breakfast at Frontier. The Huevos Rancheros green were absolutely delicious! Talk about busy, but what do you expect on Central Avenue right across from UNM. But as busy as they were, service was still fast and friendly. As many, many times as I have visited throughout the decades I always spot a new piece of artwork. I always enjoy seeing all the beautifully framed pieces of artwork. I can’t wait to go back again and enjoy another beautiful Sunday breakfast with my Babe.
Everything was excellent! The cinnamon roll was awesome! Lots of dining space. You order at the counter then wait for your number to be on the screen.
We came here starving after a nice hike and accidentally came right after the church rush on a Sunday morning. This place was packed. The line was a little long but it went through very quickly and we were able to order in less than 5 minutes. The food that came out felt home-cooked and was so affordable. These are prices that are probably closer to pre-2010 levels. I ordered the half enchilada with the beef and the green chili and it was so good. The fries are very crunchy and you can tell they've been fried twice to give it that texture. Highly recommend this place as a New Mexico must visit
I was traveling through from Alabama and I was craving something local to NM. I asked a few local people for recommendations. I then ordered the Huevos Rancheros with "Christmas" peppers on top and a green chili cheeseburger (with corn tortilla for less carbs). Both were really good. I then went back for a bowl of the green chili stew, which was also highly recommended. I will say, the "pop" of vibrant flavors I was looking for wasn't there, but the food was overall pretty good. Finally, I got a cinnamon roll for my wife back home. I sampled a bite while there and it was just ok, nothing spectacular. I'd visit again when passing through. There's absolutely no way a semi-truck w/ trailer could fit here, but I was able to park with just my tractor a few bloakcs away. (I left the trailer at my delivery down the road)
Folksy, hometown restaurant where the employees are local people, students with terrific service. I ordered the vegetarian burrito with a regular soda and under 10 to 15 minutes I was served, eating a delicious burrito at a clean table. I like supporting family-owned restaurant. ????????
